Background of the Redevelopment Project
GINZA SIX, a large-scale urban redevelopment project, is the largest commercial complex in the Ginza area. The site merges the former site of the Matsuzakaya Department Ginza Store and a neighboring block for integrated development. A local road that ran between the two blocks has been shifted to join Mihara-dori Avenue, creating a larger continuous block measuring some 9,080 square meters. In addition to a large-scale retail complex, offices, and cultural exchange facilities, the site includes a bus terminal, rooftop garden, and facilities to accommodate stranded people unable to return home in the event of a disaster. The site offers local convenience, improved comfort, and enhanced disaster preparedness.
