Sixteen spirited artists have contributed works for this exhibition in one of two categories: (1) animals which actual exist or (2) anthropomorphized animals. As a unique aspect of this exhibition, artists who regularly create realistic images of animals in their work, as well as those who depict fictional or mythical animals, have challenged themselves to use animal subjects to which they are unaccustomed. At “ANIMAL? ANIMAL!,” you can experience for yourself unique artistic worlds expressed through Japanese painting (Nihonga), Western painting, sculpture, handicrafts and many other mediums.
