冬の森を駆けるエゾリス。凍風に耐えるスズメ。果てなき原野を彷徨うオオカミ。彼らが放つ輝き。“いのち”の中に静かに“美”は宿ります。水面に姿を映し出す樹々、風に流され形を変える雲。命を育む舞台もまた美しさに溢れています。
森羅万象。そこに内包される“光”に私たちは導かれ、本来的な命の有り様を見出だしていくものなのかも知れません。

増田 寿志
1972年生まれ、北海道倶知安町出身。
北海道やアラスカといった北方圏の自然を愛し、そこで観察した動物たちや風景等を題材に鉛筆やペン、アクリル絵具を用いて絵画制作を行っている。札幌、東京、大阪などでの個展の他、新聞や書籍の挿絵、図鑑の標本画等の制作も行う。2010年、北海道大学総合博物館「アラスカの恐竜」展用の恐竜復元画を制作。2016年、画文集「風のゆくえ-北の動物たちを描く-」(北海道新聞社刊)を出版。
A Hokkaido squirrel dashes through a wintry forest; a sparrow braces against the bitter, cold wind; a wolf wanders the endless plains—these animals shine with vitality. Amid all of this life resides a quiet beauty. Images of trees are reflected off of the water’s surface, and clouds alter their forms while pushed forward by the wind. The stage which gives rise to life is also replete with beauty. It is the world of Mother Nature, and the light contained therein seems to lead us, perhaps helping us to discover the true form of vitality itself.
