FOOD PUNK
In nature, there are edible creatures such as sea urchins, pufferfish, mushrooms, and chestnuts that have spines or are poisonous. These are not mere means of attack, but forms of defense necessary for survival.

Beneath that strength lies something precious one doesn’t want destroyed, and beneath that sharpness reside delicate, transparent emotions. This duality bears a certain resemblance to the structure of the human heart. In a time when avoiding conflict is regarded as common sense, we go through life smoothing the edges of our emotions. At the same time, we’ve entered an era in which we are beginning to unleash the true selves we’ve suppressed within society, in order to live fully as human beings.

To convey the essence of what one means without diluting one’s true feelings, without harming oneself or others—if we could actually display a similar kind of sharpness, perhaps we could all live more authentic lives.
FOOD PUNK takes sea urchins and pufferfish as motifs, reframing the aggressiveness of spines and poison as “charming poison” and “gentle spines” depicting this duality.

Strength and delicacy. Attack and defense. This is a space featuring imaginary life forms inspired by the survival strategies of edible creatures, exploring the human emotions that emerge between these extremes. To be charmingly edgy without pandering or submission. To display boundaries, not rejection. To live true to oneself while hiding compassion beneath a charming exterior. I hope you can sense the wisdom and energy needed to live authentically.
